Challenge on!

Today our timetable was rearranged so we could select two teams of 'McGivers' from our Intermediate classes. We needed 8 Year 7/8 students to represent us at the Motueka inter schools' BP Technology Challenge next week. We managed to choose four students from each class.

We were given a 2m space to work in, a bag of materials and a challenge. The challenge was to design and make a structure to guide a marble to hit a target 3m away. There were different scores for the speed, distance from the target and robustness of the structure. It was funny to see some of them fall over before they could be used.

The criteria to choose our 'McGivers' were well designed and successful structure plus ability to work cooperatively with others.

Congratulations to Laura, Adam, Kurtis and Ben E from Room 6, and Barbra, Libby, Haydn and George from Room 5, for their success in winning the McGiver challenge.
