Learning about values

We have been checking out Voicethread as a learning tool. We are learning to share our ideas ensuring we speak clearly and expressively to make sure our listeners understand us and don't switch off.
We discussed what values are. We came up with a brief definition - values are things we think are special, things that we need for our well being and we believe they are important to us. What do you think? We would love to hear more about other people's ideas about values.
